Past Projects

MTS/James R. Mills Building

BriceHouse Starboard developed the award-winning Metropolitan Transit Development Board (MTDB) Headquarters, the Imperial Avenue Transfer Station, and a major facility for the County of San Diego.

With a distinctive fifteen-story clock tower and open plaza, this project features a pedestrian-oriented, urban environment that is a centerpiece for Centre City East (part of downtown San Diego's redevelopment area). The headquarters building played a key role in the revitalization of this burgeoning San Diego neighborhood.

The $43.6 million project features 180,000 square feet of offices and a six-story, 1,000 car parking garage that not only serves the office building but is a prototype of parking intercepts for downtown San Diego. The ten-story office tower spans directly over a trolley station and provides a regional transportation station where San Diego's three main trolley lines and major bus lines converge.

BriceHouse Starboard handled all aspects of the development and construction process for the project including design and installation of all tenant improvements and furniture, fixtures, and equipment. BriceHouse Starboard also orchestrated the relocation and move-in of 1,000 employees to the facility from seven separate locations.

The facility was developed through a public/private partnership between a BriceHouse Starboard company and the San Diego Regional Building Authority, a joint powers agency comprising the County of San Diego and MTDB
